300 Years of Capability Brown

Discover more about 18th century landscape gardener Capability Brown and his local work in Kent in a new book.

'Capability Brown in Kent' is a book commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the birthday of the one of the greatest landscape gardeners in Britain. 

The book examines the 5 key sites he designed in Kent - Ingress, Valence, Chilham Castle, North Cray Place and Leeds Abbey, some of which are open to the public today.

The book was published by Kent Gardens Trust and was supported by the Rochester Bridge Trust, whose property portfolio includes Leeds Abbey.

It is available from all good bookshops and also from the Kent Gardens Trust at
